EIU's Observation on Bangladesh Elections

The Economist Intelligence Unit in its Viewswire has made the following observation on Bangladesh's elections:

Bangladesh could quickly revert to a state of extreme and destabilising political polarisation. If street violence erupts, the army could even decide to re-enter the political fray. The caretaker government has achieved something by overseeing credible elections—albeit after a long delay and the imposition of emergency rule. But there is a risk that it will not take long for this modest success to be undone.
